Capital City Club
The Crabapple site was acquired by Capital City Club, who hired Choate + Hertlein Architects to design the clubhouse for their new golf course. The site presented a rare design opportunity to place a new clubhouse atop a hill overlooking hundreds of acres of manicured landscape amidst mature trees, with no visible neighbors – an ideal venue for the Capital City Club, with its long and rich history. In keeping with the opportunity presented by the site, a new clubhouse was created with a strong sense of permanence – as if it was built a century earlier.
