T.R.R. Cobb House
Built in the 1830’s as a simple “I-house”, this home was given to the Confederate statesman T.R.R. Cobb in 1842, who renovated and expanded the house over a decade into the configuration seen today. The home was moved twice until returning to its present location in Athens, Georgia. C+H coordinated this final move, along with the research, documentation, and construction supervision needed to restore the house. Landscape designs reflect the home’s period of significance. Work was based on HABS photographs and drawings, archival research and physical investigation. The T.R.R. Cobb house is currently being operated as a historic house museum.
